Group Photos was established as a musical side project in 2015, formed from 2 different Inland Empire bands, Oxford, and Foliage. Both bands soon fell apart. Leaving those projects behind, Group Photos was formed as a way to identify a music group, without need for constant imagery of physical faces. Instead, it uses the idea of anonymity and surveillance as the base behind the project. This imagery laid out the ground concept for Group Photos.
And with this idea, the security camera became for the first real face for GP. The General Public in view, and the transparency within Group Photos.
